Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to Northridge Community Church! Our chuch is located in Alanson, Michigan and exists to bring hope to every home in  North Emmet. We do this by sharing the truth of the Bible and the love of Christ to those around us. Our mission is to build people of any starting point to live with purpose in Christ. We would love to meet you, so please connect with us by coming to a service or sending us a message. Let's grow together!

When does Northridge meet?
Our Sunday worship gathering is at 10:30 am. Feel free to come early from 10:00 – 10:20 for coffee, treats, and conversation right inside our front doors. Sunday school for all ages happens before church at 9:15 am. We also have LifeGroups, Teen Bible Study, and a rotation of training on Sunday nights. Special events and weekly activities can all be found on our Calendar page.
What should I wear?
Be comfortable. We dress in everything from shorts to pants to dresses. We do not want clothing to be a barrier for anyone coming to hear about God.
Do you have traditional or contemporary worship?
We have a worship band that uses drums, guitars, a keyboard, and voices to worship God each Sunday. The music ranges from current contemporary Christian radio hits, to worship choruses from the past 20 years, to hymns played by the whole worship band.
What about children and preschoolers?
On Sunday mornings there are age appropriate classes for pre-schoolers through teens at 9:15. During the service, there is a nursery for babies and pre-schoolers. Children from age 5 through fifth grade are encouraged to attend Children's Church during the sermon. The children start with their families to sing and are dismissed to an engaging child-friendly service while the sermon is being preached. Wednesday nights is also a big night for children in the church. AWANA teaches Bible concepts and Scripture memory verses to children from pre-school through fifth grade using games, awards, and a lot of fun. Children from sixth through twelfth grade can attend the Ignite Student Ministries youth group on Wednesday nights. Both Wednesday activites run from 6:30pm-8:15 pm, and have limited van service for transportation. For more information on Ignite, follow them on Facebook. All workers go through a complete screening process including background checks and training before working in the preschool and children's ministry areas.
What denomination is your church?
As a community church, we are a non-denominational, Bible-believing church. We are independent but not isolated. One example of this is the Northern Michigan Missions Consortium, a partnership of six churches sending local missionaries. Northridge is also involved in the Riverfest Community Service each August.
